A melody of maximalized space can be found at this bijou bolthole in midtown Manhattan, which was gracefully gutted and thoroughly remodeled. Leading the inspiration was the client’s desire for multi-functional usability and cohesiveness. With children having flown the nest, the relaxed couple from Dallas were seeking a spacious modern sanctuary, where they might occasionally sojourn in the city.
To this end, the entire space was cleverly recreated to make use of every inch of space, with custom oak cabinetry continuing from the home office media wall to the wraparound bar and throughout the master bedroom. The addition of a powder room allowed for an ensuite primary bath and a windowed walk-in closet gives the feel of a more expansive home. Flowing functionality combined with striking abstract art, mid-century furniture, and earthy textures allowed us to devise a flexible NYC retreat with a warm, yet oh so polished allure.
