Lower East Side Lounge

"This seductive chocolate and champagne-toned hangout was commissioned by one of NYC’s prominent DJs as a lounge-cum-nightclub on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Named Boucarou in honor of the owner’s West African roots, the space serves as a reincarnation of the open-air social spaces found in his home country.

To establish this unique character without detracting from the alluring urban atmosphere, we installed a custom concrete bar and handcrafted a show-stopping art installation comprised of 100,000 brass nails. An ode to building fasteners of traditional Boucarous, this centerpiece was complemented by a stunning roof deck with a retractable skylight, allowing social-seekers the chance to dance under the stars.
