Gramercy Modern Eclectic

Telling a tale of New York City with its prime Gramercy location and top-floor views over East 18th Street, this incredible space was once the lovechild of two separate apartments. Previously hastily patched together, we completely reconfigured the home to craft a spectacular space for living and entertaining in the form of a new open kitchen with light flooding in from the south-facing windows and dappling across the custom concrete bar. Our client; a writer and her family of voracious readers, requested built-in bookcases in every room with hidden storage to give a tidy, modern feel.

Modeled on the ever-evolving needs of family life, the finished design features all the necessary modern conveniences, from integrated appliances to updated bathrooms and atmospheric recessed lighting. Raised beamed ceilings, an open layout, and new hardwood floors provide a warm, spacious, loft feel. Extensive custom built-in storage and crisp white walls are a blank canvas for displaying the work of the young artists-in-residence and colorful textiles, art, and decor amassed over time.
